My father is the only president not trying to enrich himself says Sayi Tinubu

Seyi Tinubu is the son of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, recently made headlines with his Ramadan outreach in Northern Nigeria. However, his actions and statements have sparked intense debate, with supporters defending him against critics who question his intentions.

Seyi Tinubu Defends His Father

During a recent youth gathering in Yola, Adamawa State, Seyi Tinubu praised his father, stating:

  • "He is the only president that considers youths."

  • "The only president that created an economy that has benefited everybody."

  • "The only president that is not trying to enrich his own pocket."

These comments came shortly after former President Olusegun Obasanjo criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration, labeling it corrupt and highlighting controversial spending like the N21 billion spent on the Vice President's residence.

Obasanjo said:

  • Nigeria's leaders "are all out to corruptly enrich themselves," neglecting public welfare.

  • Leaders often misuse resources, leaving citizens in poverty.

  • He described some government projects as "criminally ridiculous" and designed to steal public funds.

Criticism and Defense of Ramadan Outreach

Seyi Tinubu's Ramadan tour faced backlash, with some claiming it was politically motivated. Isaac Balami, an APC chieftain, strongly defended Seyi, stating:

  • "Seyi Tinubu’s visit to northern communities is not political."

  • "He has been engaged in humanitarian work for over a decade."

  • "He even covered the medical bills of an ‘Obidient’ youth who openly campaigned against his father."

Balami emphasized that Seyi’s charitable acts began long before his father's presidency, arguing:

  • Seyi's actions have always been inclusive and not influenced by politics.

  • Critics misunderstand or deliberately misrepresent Seyi’s intentions.

  • Nigerians should appreciate genuine efforts to support unity and the less privileged.

Seyi Tinubu: A Unique Example Among Presidential Families

Isaac Balami further praised Seyi Tinubu, suggesting he was setting an unprecedented example among presidential families:

  • "Seyi Tinubu has continued to do what most children of presidents have never done."

  • He called criticisms "needless and politically motivated."

  • Balami noted that Seyi's organization employs many northerners, indicating inclusiveness and genuine care for all Nigerians.

Balami urged young Nigerians and leaders to follow Seyi Tinubu’s example by engaging in sincere humanitarian efforts:

  • "Nigerians should rather call on young politicians...to emulate Seyi Tinubu by supporting individuals who are truly in need."

Who is Seyi Tinubu?  Seyi Tinubu is the son of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, known for his extensive humanitarian outreach programs, especially during Ramadan. His recent statements defending his father's presidency and his charitable work have sparked nationwide discussions and debates about politics and genuine philanthropy.
