The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has released the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results. According to Dr. Daniel Odongo, the UNEB Executive Secretary, this year's results show notable improvements in some areas, although there are areas needing attention.

A total of 798,771 candidates registered for the PLE in 2024, marking a 6.6% rise compared to 749,254 candidates last year. Among them, 418,750 were girls (52.5%), while 378,709 were boys (47.5%). This indicates that more girls completed Primary Education than boys this year.

Performance improved in subjects like Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies, but English Language results showed a decline. More candidates managed to score Division 2 and above compared to the previous year, reflecting overall progress in performance.

Students can access their results quickly using SMS by sending "PLE," followed by a space and their full index number, to 6600. For instance, someone with the index number 003601/397 would send "PLE 003601/397." Schools can also retrieve the results via their online portals, while printed copies will be distributed to District, City, or Municipal Inspectors of Schools.
