Police in Uganda have uncovered a shocking scam where people pretending to be pastors during the day turn into traditional healers at night to cheat innocent citizens.
Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke explained that these fraudsters use church services to gain people's trust. They act like religious leaders, but once night falls, they switch roles, using shrines and claiming to offer healing services. This way, they convince their victims to give them money and valuables.
Many people have lost millions of shillings to this trickery. When victims ask for refunds, the scammers do not feel sorry. Instead, they threaten to curse or harm them.
The police have already identified some of the suspects and are working to expose them. “Be careful. These fake pastors and healers are targeting vulnerable Ugandans. We will get them,” Rusoke warned.
Authorities are asking anyone who has encountered these criminals to report them immediately. Stay alert and do not fall for their tricks.
