Elias Luyimbazi Nalukola sworn in as Kawempe North MP; receives full March benefits and Shs 300M car grant. Constituents hopeful.
Elias Luyimbazi Nalukola, the new Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, was officially sworn in on March 26, 2025.

Even though Nalukola started his parliamentary work only four days before the end of March, he will still receive his full monthly salary and allowances. The total payment he will get for March is Shs 55 million.

In addition to his salary, Nalukola will get a car grant worth Shs 300 million by the end of March. This benefit is given to all Members of Parliament to help them move around easily while performing their duties.

Speaker Anita Among confirmed Nalukola’s entitlements during the swearing-in event. She instructed Adolf Mwesige, the Clerk to Parliament, to ensure that Nalukola receives all his benefits immediately.

“The Clerk to Parliament is directed to provide Nalukola with all his privileges as a Member of Parliament with immediate effect,” Among stated.

“This includes a new car to facilitate his movement while carrying out his representation duties for the people of Kawempe North.”

Residents of Kawempe North welcomed Nalukola’s election and have high expectations from him. They hope he will focus on key concerns such as improving infrastructure, better public services, and creating jobs for the community.

Nalukola’s success as their representative will depend on his ability to meet these expectations. His performance in addressing the needs of his constituents will shape his political future.
