AC Milan striker, Tammy Abraham, recently spoke about his relationship with Nigeria, the country of his parents' origin. Born in London to Nigerian immigrant parents, the 27-year-old felt a connection to his foreign culture despite his time in England. In an interview with his team's television station, Abraham elaborated on how Nigeria's influence has shaped who he is today, expressing his deep gratitude to his generation for him. Although he forged a career in Europe, his relationship with his native Nigeria is clearly long and lasting, leaving him with little focus on the football that has guided his professional journey.

Living in London with a large Nigerian family, Abraham was surrounded by culture from an early age. He still remembers his trips to visit his family in Nigeria, hoping to return soon. Traditional Nigerian food cooked by her mother also maintains these roots. Despite being born in England, the striker maintains strong ties to the country of his parents and beyond, nourished by the memories and savors of his family's historic place.

Despite Abraham's decision to represent England at international level - starting with the Three Lions in 2020 - his ties to Nigeria remain strong. In 2017, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) tried to convince him to join the Super Eagles, but the striker eventually decided to play for England. Since then, he has scored 11 goals and scored three goals.

Although his international career was spent with England, it is clear that Nigeria still holds a special place in his heart, and he is looking forward to reconnecting with his roots on his next tour.
