Uwayezu François Régis has parted ways with Tanzania’s Simba SC after only five months as the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

In a statement, Simba SC informed fans that the decision to separate from Uwayezu was due to circumstances beyond their control, and both sides mutually agreed to it.

According to IGIHE, Uwayezu could not obtain a work permit to operate in Tanzania, despite Simba SC's efforts to secure the necessary documentation.

The club has temporarily replaced him with Hassan Zubeda Shakuru, who is pursuing an advanced degree and already holds two master’s degrees in different fields.

Uwayezu was appointed as Simba SC CEO on July 26, 2024, succeeding Imani Kajua. He holds a master’s degree in finance and administration and previously worked as the Secretary-General of FERWAFA from May 2018 to September 2021, where he also served as the organization’s spokesperson.

Before joining FERWAFA, Uwayezu spent seven years as the head of finance and administration at Rwanda’s Language and Culture Institute (RALC). He also worked with the Ministry of Internal Security and has extensive experience in sports administration.

In 2017, he joined the Olympic Committee's Sports for All Commission and became the Vice President of Rwanda’s Coaches Association. He also holds a UEFA License B coaching certificate, earned in 2010 in Koblenz, Germany.

In 2023, Uwayezu became Vice Chairman of APR FC. On August 1, 2024, he officially began his new role at Simba SC, often referred to as "Wekundu wa Msimbazi."
