Prince Dube's hat-trick propels Yanga to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Mashujaa FC, marking the first hat-trick of the season.

Zimbabwean striker Prince Dube scored three goals, leading Young Africans (Yanga) to a 3-2 win over Mashujaa FC in the Mainland Tanzania Premier League at the KMC Complex on December 19, 2024.

This was the first hat-trick in the league since it began on August 16, 2024.

Dube, who joined Yanga this season from Azam FC, opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a pass from Pacome Zouzoua.

He added a second goal in the 21st minute after receiving a pass from Clement Mzize.

He completed his hat-trick in the 52nd minute, assisted by Kibwana Shomari.

Mashujaa FC responded with goals from David Olomi in the 45th minute and Idrisa Stambuli in the 62nd minute, but it wasn't enough to oad.

Yanga's head coach, Sead Ramovic, praised his team's performance, acknowledging the challenging nature of the match.

He stated,

"We played well despite conceding two goals. We are improving steadily and are confident of reaching peak form to defend the league title."

Mashujaa FC's head coach, Abdallah Bares, attributed the loss to lapses in concentration and mistakes that allowed Yanga to capitalize.

With this victory, Yanga moved to third place in the league standings with 30 points from 12 matches, trailing second-placed Simba by one point and leaders Azam FC by three points.

The league continues on December 20, 2024, with Namungo FC hosting JKT Tanzania at the Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi.

Namungo FC's head coach, Juma Mgunda, expressed confidence in his team's readiness, emphasizing their commitment to achieving the best results.

He said,

"We aim for a home victory despite playing against a strong team. We have trained well, and I trust my players' dedication."

JKT Tanzania's head coach, Hamad Ally, also anticipated a tough encounter but remained optimistic about securing positive results.

He commented,

"We expect a challenging match, but we are prepared to give our best."

This match is crucial for both teams as they seek to improve their positions in the league standings.

Namungo FC currently sits 12th with 13 points from 14 matches, while JKT Tanzania is 8th with 18 points from 13 matches.

The outcome of this fixture could significantly impact their prospects for the remainder of the season.

As the league progreses, teams are intensifying their efforts to climb the standings, making each match increasingly competitive.
