President Yoweri Museveni has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Pope Francis, calling him a unique and powerful spiritual figure whose influence will live on for generations.
In a heartfelt condolence message sent to Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State, Museveni conveyed Uganda’s sincere sympathies to the entire Catholic Church and its followers around the world.
Museveni described the Pope as a man of deep faith who stood for peace, justice, and unity among all people. “It is with deep sadness that I received the news of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis,” the President said in his message.
He praised the Pope’s strong leadership and said his actions helped restore hope and purpose in the Church, especially in a world becoming more secular. According to Museveni, Pope Francis’ voice for compassion, fairness, and humility reached millions and inspired people of all beliefs.
