Pastor Bugingo seeks Shs120 billion to build his big ‘Pentagon’ church: “The money we have raised so far can’t even bring materials to the site”

Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer Ministries International has told his followers that the construction of the long-awaited ‘Pentagon’ church has stalled because of a shortage of money.

Bugingo has spent several years asking his congregation to give money for this ambitious project. Many believers have donated, hoping to see construction begin soon.

In a recent church service, Pastor Bugingo revealed that the money raised so far is not enough to even start laying the foundation.

“We initially estimated that the project would cost Shs100 billion back in 2019, but now, due to rising costs and inflation, the budget has increased to Shs120 billion,” Bugingo explained.

He further shared the difficult financial reality, saying, “It’s impossible to lay the foundation with less than a tenth of the required budget. Contractors demand a 30% deposit, which amounts to 30 billion. Unfortunately, we have not even raised 7 billion, which isn’t enough to bring materials to the site.”

The Pentagon project has regularly appeared in the news, with Pastor Bugingo often giving updates about the fundraising and planned construction.

However, his recent update has sparked reactions online, with some people on social media mocking the slow progress of the church project.
