NUP candidate Erias Nalukoola was arrested before his nomination, sparking concerns and adding tension to the Kawempe North by-election.

Breaking News: NUP Candidate Erias Nalukoola Arrested Before Kawempe North By-Election Nomination.

In a surprising turn of events, Counsel Erias Nalukoola, the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate for the much-awaited Kawempe North by-election, has reportedly been taken into custody by Joint Anti-Terrorism (JAT) officers along with military personnel.

The incident happened as Nalukoola, along with his team, was heading to the nomination center for the election. The nomination process is scheduled to take place today and tomorrow.

According to sources, all of Nalukoola’s necessary nomination documents, including important forms, were seized at the time of the arrest.

This development has sparked concern among his supporters and within the political circle, with many questioning the timing of his arrest just as the nomination process was about to begin.

The Kawempe North by-election has already drawn significant attention due to the competitive nature of the seat. The nomination phase for both the parliamentary seat and the councilor position for Angola Kazo marks a crucial moment in the area’s political scene.

Nalukoola’s arrest introduces a new twist to an already heated race, leaving many wondering about the impact it may have on the unfolding election process.
