Famous Ugandan singer Catherine Kusasira is struggling financially after taking a loan of UGX 210 million. She used a car that was a gift from President Yoweri Museveni as security for the loan.

Money lenders say that Kusasira used her Toyota Land Cruiser V8, with registration number UBF 610S, as a guarantee to borrow the money.

Since she failed to pay back on time, the lenders tried to sell the car to recover their money. However, they could not transfer ownership because a legal restriction was placed on the vehicle.

Unlike other cars given by President Museveni, Kusasira received hers as a personal gift, which is why it is registered in her name.

When asked about the issue, Kusasira admitted she was having financial problems and requested more time to repay. She also hoped that President Museveni would help her settle the loan.

This situation has brought up concerns about how people who receive gifts from the President manage their finances and the responsibilities that come with such gifts.

Kusasira is now waiting for support to clear her debt and regain full ownership of her car.
