Liverpool made a dramatic comeback to beat Southampton 3-2 in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Reds went into the match knowing a win would put them eight points ahead of Manchester City, who suffered a 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur the day before.

Dominik Szoboszlai scored the opening goal in the first half to give Liverpool the lead. However, Southampton turned the game around with Armstrong scoring from a penalty and Mateus Fernandes adding another on a quick counterattack.

Mohamed Salah then stepped up, scoring two crucial goals to secure the victory and extend Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table.

Next weekend, Arne Slot’s team will host Manchester City at Anfield in what could be a key game in the race for the title.
