Ahead of their Champions League encounter, Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has expressed high regard for Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi, predicting that the 17-year-old could become one of the greatest defenders in football history. Kompany’s praise came during a press conference before the Wednesday game, highlighting Cubarsi’s impactful performances since his debut under Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.


Kompany noted,

"Pau Cubarsi will be one of the best defenders in football history. He is young and impressive. If injuries spare him, he will be a great player."

This commendation places significant attention on Cubarsi, who has participated in every match for Barcelona this season across all competitions.


Barcelona’s coach, Hansi Flick, also praised Cubarsi’s ability to read the game and excel in one-on-one situations, attributes that have contributed to his rapid rise and recent national team call-up by Spain.
