Manchester United legend Roy Keane criticized captain Bruno Fernandes for his recent remarks following the dismissal of manager Erik ten Hag. Fernandes had publicly apologized for his performance after Ten Hag was sacked on October 28 due to a loss against West Ham in the Premier League. The team, now temporarily led by Ruud van Nistelrooy, drew 1-1 with Chelsea in their latest match.

In a statement to Sky Sports, Fernandes admitted his regret over not scoring goals which he believed could have saved Ten Hag's position. Keane, however, dismissed Fernandes' late apology as insufficient.

"Too little, too late. You are judged by what you do on the field, and Bruno has not shown the leadership needed when times are tough,"

Keane said. He also noted a tendency among players to quickly shift focus to the next manager rather than improving their current performance.

The situation highlights deeper issues of leadership within Manchester United as they navigate through a phase of managerial changes.
