Omala publicly asked for forgiveness from everyone he might have hurt, including Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Former Kampala North Police operations commander, Omala, has passed away at Mulago Hospital in Kampala. He had been fighting cancer for a long time before his death this morning.
Omala retired from the police force in 2020 after turning sixty. Since then, he spent much of his time in and out of hospitals due to health problems.
He became well-known in 2011 for stopping Kizza Besigye's walk-to-work protests. Many people in opposition politics still remember him as a "tormentor" because of his role during those demonstrations.
