FIFA approved temporary transfer rules on Thursday to help players switch teams and compete in the Club World Cup in the United States in June-July.

The move will allow players to sign contracts that expire on June 30, 2025, by signing early and for free with one of 32 teams.

Those teams are Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and PSG.

If a contract is reached between the clubs, FIFA’s amendment allows players to play for a new club for two weeks from mid-June before their contract expires.

Indeed, the competition is still competitive.

However, players will not be able to represent two different teams when the competition is played in 12 stadiums.
