Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has been left out of the squad for their UEFA Europa League match against Latvian side Rigas FC, set to take place on Thursday.


Osimhen suffered a muscle injury during Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw with Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig last weekend, a match in which he netted two goals. The club confirmed on Tuesday that the 25-year-old has begun treatment for the injury.


With 24 players traveling to Latvia for the second matchday of the Europa League group stage, Osimhen’s absence is a significant blow for the Turkish champions. His participation in Nigeria’s upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Libya also remains in doubt due to the injury.
