Reece James ruled out of Chelsea's clash with Leicester City due to a minor injury, confirms manager Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that captain Reece James will not feature in their Premier League match against Leicester City due to a minor injury.

“Reece felt something small, and we don’t want to take any risks for this game. Hopefully, it’s not something long-term. We believe it’s a short-term issue,”

Maresca said during a press conference on Thursday.

Maresca also mentioned the possibility of pairing Joao Felix and Cole Palmer in the future.

“I see Cole Palmer and João Félix playing together as one of our targets for the future. João has been fantastic with us since day one. The challenge is finding the right balance,”

he added.

Chelsea will adjust their plans as they aim for a positive result without their captain.
