Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has responded to the club's decision to sack manager Erik ten Hag after their 2-1 loss to West Ham on Sunday.
"Thanks for everything, boss! I appreciate the trust and the moments we shared together. I wish you all the best,"
Fernandes wrote on Instagram. He acknowledged the team’s recent struggles, saying,
"Even knowing the last period hasn’t been great from all of us. I hope you fans can keep with you the good things Erik has done for our club."
United also announced that former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who joined Ten Hag’s backroom staff last summer, will take over as interim manager.
