Eddy Kenzo and SFC Clash at Kawempe Rally

Musician Eddy Kenzo is one of Uganda’s top artists, but his influence does not go beyond certain limits in the ruling NRM government.

During a rally in Kawempe North Constituency for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Kenzo faced a confrontation with security forces. A video circulating online shows him in a heated exchange of words and insults with one of the SFC commandos who told him to leave the stage.

Reports suggest that the security team wanted to clear the area for President Museveni to exit, but Kenzo refused to step down, insisting on finishing his performance before the President’s departure.

His performance was only allowed to continue after Prime Minister Nabbanja intervened and ordered security to let him complete his scheduled act.
