The Super Eagles have received a significant injury boost ahead of today's 2025 AFCON qualifier against Benin, with Ballon d'Or nominee Ademola Lookman cleared to play.

Lookman, a key striker for Atalanta, has been nursing a left shoulder injury but has resumed full training with the team. Despite the injury, team officials have confirmed that he is fit to feature in the match.

"It is not a serious injury; he can play with it,"

a team official told SCORENigeria.

Lookman, who played in the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid, has yet to make an appearance in Serie A this season following a transfer saga involving Paris Saint-Germain. Although he agreed to personal terms with PSG, Atalanta blocked the move, as he remains under contract with the Italian club for three more years.

Lookman’s return is expected to boost the Super Eagles' attacking options in the crucial AFCON qualifying clash.
