The outcome of this tense Group H clash played in the DR Congo’s backyard was in the balance with aggressive tackles and key plays keeping the spectators at the edge of their busy.

Both the teams entered the match with the hope of earning some much needed points to remain in the qualifying race. In the very first quarter of the game, Tanzanian midfielder F. Salum was cautioned with a yellow card which made the team's tasks very difficult. The gun now turned for DR Congo after the half time and C. Mbemba substituted also received a yellow card, showing the heat of the game.

This victory assures DR Congo of important points in their group making their progression to the next stage of the tournaments more realistic. The game was not only about the defensive game of the teams but also its edge never to put a foot wrong.
