Tayebwa seen warmly interacting with Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu
Supporters of the Patriotic League Uganda (PLU) and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party are upset with Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Thomas Tayebwa.
The anger comes after Tayebwa was seen warmly interacting with Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine, the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP). This happened during the burial of John Kazoora on April 24, 2025.
Photos shared online showed Tayebwa smiling, chatting, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Bobi Wine, as if they were close friends. This friendly interaction shocked many loyal supporters of NRM, PLU, and General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Frank Mwesigye, a strong supporter of PLU, NRM, and Gen. Muhoozi, expressed his disappointment on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. He wrote,
"It was completely disgraceful and regrettable for the Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker to smile and hug this hooligan, who is an enemy of our country, an enemy of President Museveni, an enemy of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and an enemy of the people of Uganda and Africa."
Another disappointed user, Akello Jane Mary, also posted her thoughts on X, saying,
"Thomas Tayebwa, you are truly betraying President Museveni, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and our mighty party NRM. What is this nonsense, Tayebwa? How can you happily be seen with that lumpen Bobi Wine and his entire NUP? This is very disappointing."
The photos and videos sparked a lot of reactions online, with many questioning Tayebwa’s loyalty to the NRM and President Museveni.
Now, the big question remains: Is all this anger toward Hon. Tayebwa really justified? What do you think?Feel free to share your opinion in the comments below.
