Denis Omedi, a forward for Kitara FC and the Uganda Cranes, has been nominated for the 2024 FIFA Puskás Award. This nomination recognizes his exceptional rabona goal scored against KCCA FC during the FUFA Super 8 tournament in August 2024.

In the 10th minute of the match, with Kitara trailing 1-0, Omedi received a long pass near the edge of the penalty area. After outmaneuvering a defender, he executed a rabona—a technique where one leg crosses behind the other to strike the ball—sending it into the far corner of the net past the goalkeeper. This goal equalized the score and was instrumental in Kitara's progression to the semifinals.

The FIFA Puskás Award honors the most beautiful goal of the year, considering factors like aesthetics and fair play. Omedi's goal has been celebrated by fans and analysts, with some suggesting it as a strong contender for the award.
