Chelsea Near Completion of Victor Osimhen Signing Deal

Journalist Miguel Delaney has revealed that Chelsea are nearing an agreement to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli. The negotiations have been challenging, but Delaney reports that "a breakthrough is now in sight."

Osimhen, 25, has a €130 million release clause in his contract with Napoli, a figure Chelsea are reluctant to meet. Instead, the West London club is considering including Romelu Lukaku in their offer for the Nigerian international and current African Footballer of the Year.

Napoli, under new manager Antonio Conte, is open to such an agreement as Conte aims to make Lukaku a key figure in his attack this season. Lukaku is no longer part of Chelsea's plans and is set to leave the club.

However, Osimhen is reportedly demanding a salary of around £200,000 per week to move to Stamford Bridge. Despite recently instituting a strict pay structure, Chelsea are prepared to make an exception for Osimhen.
