Al-Ittihad forward Karim Benzema has publicly supported Vinicius Jr. for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, stating the Brazilian winger was more deserving of the award than the actual winner, Rodri of Manchester City.


Despite finishing as runner-up, Vinicius and several Real Madrid teammates expressed their dissent by not attending the award ceremony held in Paris.


In an interview with El Chiringuito TV, Benzema shared his conversation with a disheartened Vinicius, emphasizing that although he respects Rodri's skills, he believes Vinicius had a more impactful performance worthy of the accolade.
