South Africa, third in this year's AFCON behind hosts and winners Ivory Coast and Nigeria, beat Guatemala 5-0 in their 2010 World Cup warm-up, beating Congo.

Teboho Mokoena, who was suspended by Mamelodi Sundowns due to a dispute with the coach, proved to be careless as he turned a corner into the back of the net before scoring again in the second half.

A flurry of goals from Batusi Obaas, who made it 3-0 in the second half, Lyle Foster and substitute Ikraam Reiners completed the demolition of a weak Congolese side.

The Group K match in Gqeberha was stopped 18 minutes into the first half by the Mauritanian referee after several spectators entered the pitch to join in the goal celebrations.

However, South Africa coach Hugo Broos has warned his team that Tuesday's second leg in Brazzaville will be more difficult.

“Tomorrow, scoring five goals will be a record. We have to repeat the amazing mentality shown tonight,"

said the Belgian who coached Cameroon at the 2017 AFCON.

Uganda and South Africa have seven points, Congo has three and South Sudan has none. Both leaders can qualify if they win on Tuesday.
