Rwanda’s Amavubi Team Prepares for a Tough CHAN 2024 Qualifier Against South Sudan.
Cassa Mbungo André, coach of the South Sudanese team Jamus, has warned that Rwanda's national team, Amavubi, will face a tough challenge in their upcoming CHAN 2024 qualifier match against South Sudan.
Cassa, who started coaching Jamus in August 2024, said South Sudan has strong attackers and defenders. Speaking to the media accompanying the Amavubi team, he explained:
"Especially in attack, they are very fast and score many header goals from crosses. Defensively, they have good players. However, they are not very strong in midfield."
The Amavubi team, made up of many young players, has arrived in South Sudan to play the first leg of the qualifier. Cassa believes that if Rwanda’s players focus on connecting well in midfield and creating more chances for forwards, they have a good chance of success.
The South Sudan team includes many Jamus players, who are under Cassa’s leadership.
The first leg will be played on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 3:00 PM (local time), and the return leg is scheduled for December 28, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Stade Amahoro, Kigali.
