Manchester City fans unveil a banner mocking Vinicius Junior before the Champions League clash at Etihad Stadium.

Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior responded to Manchester City fans who displayed a banner mocking him before their Champions League match on Tuesday.

The banner showed City player Rodri holding the 2024 Ballon d’Or trophy with the words: “Stop crying your heart out.” This referenced Real Madrid’s anger after Vinicius lost the award to Rodri last year, which led the Spanish club to skip the award ceremony.

Vinicius said the banner motivated him more during the game, which Real Madrid won

3-2.

“I saw the banner… and it motivated me even more,”

he said after the match.

“When rivals do things like this, it gives me strength to play better.”

He added,

“It’s hard to explain Real Madrid’s magic in the Champions League. But we wanted to win – that’s our mission.”

Man City now face a tough challenge in the second leg at Real Madrid’s home stadium next week.
