Headaches can be debilitating

Headaches are unpleasant experiences and more so, when they are always a common occurrence. For those who have a choice on medications, there are many in the over the counter market and other natural pain relievers that are quite a number. There are actually several evidence-based methods that can be used to minimize the occurrence and handle headaches effectively.


  1. Vitamin B2 and Magnesium Supplements

The use of Vitamin B2 supplementation (Riboflavin) as well as magnesium is effective in the prevention of headaches.

Use of these vitamins and other supplements is bound to reduce headaches but it is prudent to seek a caregiver’s advice when starting an additional prevention strategy to avert the effects of these other drugs.


  1. Strong Scents can Trigger a Headache in a Sensitive Individual

In some cases, strong scents have tensions headaches results in those affected. It is good to avoid scented products; perfumes, air fresheners, and cleansing agents. If you are in company with other people, support them to stop using perfumes and other scented items that would work against you, that is, those likely to induce headaches.


  1. Heat or Cold Compression over Head

In terms of practicality and preference, the two works – one uses heat or cold. While heating pads or hot compress is used to relax the taut muscles, the ice bag is used to ease the ache and swelling of tissues. Check both and find which is effective for you.


  1. Biofeedback

    Biofeedback is a method of training people to gain control over their specific bodily reactions, like the contraction of some muscles, which in some instances may cause headaches.


5.Gingerpowder

Ginger is not only known to soothe an upset stomach but also to relieve headaches. A 2014 study found that ginger powder provides the same level of relief as traditional medications. It is especially good for people with nausea and migraines.


6. Watch What You Drink

What you drink can have a big impact on your headaches. Alcohol is a known trigger, and while caffeine can sometimes help, it's best to limit it to no more than two cups of coffee a day. Additionally, staying hydrated is important. Aim for at least 7 glasses of water each day, as dehydration is a common cause of headaches.
