Manchester United has reportedly shortlisted three managers as possible replacements for Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

According to Fichajes.net via Football Transfers, Amorim—who only joined Manchester United a few months ago—could already be on his way out.

The 38-year-old Portuguese coach arrived from Sporting CP in November last year, replacing Erik ten Hag. However, despite high expectations, he has struggled to improve the team's performance.

At first, fans hoped that his 3-4-3 formation would bring success, but Manchester United has only managed to win four Premier League matches under him.

Now, the club is 15th in the league after 25 games, raising concerns that they could face relegation to the Championship next season.

Although Manchester United is still playing in the FA Cup and Europa League, they were eliminated from the EFL Cup at the quarterfinal stage by Tottenham Hotspur, who have already beaten them three times this season.

As results continue to disappoint, the club’s management is losing patience with Amorim and is preparing for a possible change.

The three managers Manchester United is considering are:

  • Zinedine Zidane (Former Real Madrid coach)

  • Mauricio Pochettino (Former Chelsea, PSG, Tottenham, and Southampton manager)

  • Thomas Tuchel (Former Chelsea boss)

However, hiring any of them will not be easy:

  • Zidane is waiting for the France national team job, which could become available after the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He has also said before that he does not want to manage in England.

  • Pochettino and Tuchel are currently coaching the US and England national teams, making their availability uncertain.

Interestingly, Manchester United previously considered Tuchel last summer before deciding to keep Erik ten Hag. Pochettino was also a top contender for the job in 2022 before the club hired Ten Hag instead.

With Amorim under pressure and results not improving, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will make a managerial change soon.
