Rio Ferdinand slams Manchester United after their 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace, saying the team struggles to play proper football and lacks defensive awareness.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has strongly criticized his former club after their 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.

Ferdinand believes that under current manager Ruben Amorim, the team struggles to play football effectively. He also pointed out that other teams now visit Old Trafford without fear or respect.

Crystal Palace secured all three points with two goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta.

“It’s a sad state of affairs. It’s a bit of a morbid weekend, if I’m honest, we got beat today,”

Ferdinand said on Rio Ferdinand Presents.

He added,

“Teams are now going to Old Trafford with no respect whatsoever. The manager needs to find a way of getting his team through this period, find a way of finding some positives in some games.
“The team don’t seem to be able to play football properly with the ball, we ain’t got no real idea or real patterns at the moment since this manager’s come in.
“And we are not able to defend. We don’t smell danger in defensive areas at times, especially when we are high up the pitch, it is just not good enough in all aspects there.”
