Former Chelsea star Joe Cole, who won three Premier League titles with the club, is clearly impressed with academy youngster George after his first senior goal.

“What a moment for that young lad,” Cole said while speaking to TNT Sports. “It’s always special when a player from the academy scores their first goal.”

Cole added that in a season full of ups and downs for Chelsea, George has been one of the positives.

“He’s been a bright spark in a difficult season. Whenever he’s played, he’s grabbed the chance,” Cole continued.

“He’s fast, always attacking, and doesn’t wait around. He dribbles well and makes life tough for defenders. That’s what fans love to see and he gets things moving.”

According to Cole, supporters have already started asking for George to start more Premier League games.

“They love him. They want him to play more. You can see why,” Cole finished.
