Team Nigeria made a strong statement at the Paris 2024 Paralympics as para badminton athletes Mariam Eniola Bolaji and Chigozie Jeremiah Nnanna delivered outstanding performances in their debut matches, according to BSNSports.com.ng.

Mariam Eniola Bolaji showcased her exceptional agility and control in the women’s SL3 event, securing a commanding 2-0 victory (21-8, 21-14) over India’s Mandeep Kaur. Bolaji’s powerful display set the tone for her campaign, marking a significant early triumph.

In the men’s SL4 event, Chigozie Jeremiah Nnanna followed suit with an impressive 2-0 win (21-12, 21-15) against Germany’s Marcel Adam. Nnanna’s strategic play and relentless determination proved too much for his opponent, earning him a decisive victory.

Both athletes will continue their group stage campaigns on Friday, 30th August, with Bolaji set to face Australia’s Celine Aurelie Vinot and Nnanna gearing up to challenge Indonesia’s Fredy Setiawan.

These victories have set a positive tone for Team Nigeria at the Paralympic Games, with high hopes that the athletes will continue to build on their momentum and achieve further success.
