Simba Sports Club began their CAF Confederation Cup journey with a 1-0 win over Angola's Bravos do Maquis at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on November 27, 2024. The decisive goal came in the 27th minute when Ivorian midfielder Jean Charles Ahoua converted a penalty after Bravos defender Ruben Aderito handled the ball in the box. Ahoua confidently struck the ball to the right of goalkeeper Landu Mavanga.

Simba dominated the first half, with forward Steven Mukwala leading several attacks. Despite creating multiple chances, they couldn't extend their lead due to missed opportunities. Bravos improved in the second half, pressing for an equalizer. Their best chance came in the 47th minute when Nigerian striker Emmanuel Edmond's penalty was saved by Simba goalkeeper Moussa Camara, preserving the home team's lead.

This victory places Simba at the top of Group A with three points, while Bravos remains without points. The group also includes Algeria's CS Constantine and Tunisia's CS Sfaxien. Simba's head coach, Fadlu Davids, praised his team's performance, stating,

"I commend my players for the victory. This is a good start, and our focus now shifts to the next match in Algeria."

Simba's upcoming match is against CS Constantine on December 8 at the Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium in Algeria.
