Manchester United officially announces Ruben Amorim as the club's new manager, with his first match set for November 11 against Ipswich Town.
Manchester United has announced Ruben Amorim as their new manager. The club confirmed on Friday that Amorim will remain with Sporting Lisbon until November 11, after which he will take charge of his first match for United in a Premier League game away at Ipswich Town.
Amorim, 39, has signed a contract running until June 2027, with the option to extend for another year. United paid Sporting an additional €1 million (£840,000) on top of his €10 million (£8.4 million) release clause to secure an early release from his notice period.
He replaces Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed on Monday, with Ruud van Nistelrooy set to continue as interim manager until Amorim’s arrival. United's next match is a home league game against Chelsea on Sunday.
