Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed frustration after his team’s 1-0 loss to Inter Milan in the Champions League, pointing to a penalty decision that proved crucial. Just before halftime, the referee awarded a penalty against Arsenal after Mikel Merino was judged to have handled the ball. Hakan Calhanoglu converted from the spot to score the only goal of the game.

Despite dominating the second half, Arsenal couldn't find an equalizer. Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Arteta said,

“I’m very proud of my players and the level of control we had. We were harshly treated; both penalty calls should be consistent."

He added,

"If one handball is given, the other should be too. Every decision in the box matters."

Arteta was positive about Arsenal’s performance and their chances ahead, saying,

“With the way we played, this team can go to Chelsea and win.”
