Super Eagles' stand-in coach, Austin Eguavoen, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure three crucial points in their AFCON 2025 Qualifier against the Amavubi of Rwanda. The MatchDay 2 encounter is set to take place today at the 45,000-capacity Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, with kickoff scheduled for 2 pm Nigeria time.

Despite not having a specific game plan tailored for Rwanda, Eguavoen, a 1994 AFCON winner with the Super Eagles, believes the strength and versatility of his squad will be enough to overcome the East African side.

Speaking during a pre-match video interview on Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) TV, Eguavoen stated,

“We have quality players who can adapt to different formations and systems. Whatever Rwanda throws at us, we have the personnel to handle it.”

He emphasized the team’s primary focus, adding,

“There is no specific game plan against Rwanda. The plan is to secure all three points.”

With both teams aiming to maintain their position at the top of the group standings, this crucial encounter promises to be an intense battle for qualification in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
