Dar es Salaam, March 1, 2024 — In a resounding victory, Simba Sports Club (Simba SC), one of Tanzania Mainland’s football giants, secured their place in the fourth round of the Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC). The match unfolded at the iconic Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam, where Simba SC outclassed TRA Kilimanjaro with an emphatic 6-0 win.


Match Highlights:

  • Ladack Chasambi and Sadio Kanoute set the tone for Simba SC by netting two goals in the first half.

  • The second half witnessed Simba’s relentless attack, with Freddy Kouablan extending the lead.

  • Sadio Kanoute completed his hat-trick with a well-deserved brace.

  • Substitute Pa Omar Jobe sealed the deal with the sixth goal in the 72nd minute.


ASFC Fourth Round Qualifiers:

Simba SC joins a distinguished list of 16 teams advancing to the next round. Alongside defending champions Young Africans (Yanga SC), the following teams have made a breakthrough:

  13. Rhino Rangers, the sole non-Premier League side, secured their spot by eliminating Tanzania Prisons in a thrilling contest that ended 6-5 on spot-kicks.
