In a tightly contested CAF Champions League semi-final first-leg, Esperance Sportive de Tunis edged out Mamelodi Sundowns with a slender 1-0 victory on Saturday evening at the Rades Stadium.

Yan Sasse, the Brazilian midfielder, made the difference for the Tunisian side, finding the net in the 40th minute and securing a crucial lead for his team.

Meanwhile, the first-leg tie between TP Mazembe and the reigning champions, Al Ahly of Egypt, concluded with a stalemate in Lubumbashi, leaving all to play for in the return matches.

Esperance and Mamelodi Sundowns will face off for the decisive second leg next Friday in Pretoria, with a spot in the final at stake.
