Today, we reflect on Rwanda's journey, honoring the memory of the lost and acknowledging the strength of the survivors. Their remarkable resilience and commitment to reconciliation have shaped the nation we are proud of today.
Rwanda's path to healing and growth has been paved with the principles of unity, accountability, and a forward-looking vision. These choices have been instrumental in our nation's rebirth, showcasing our collective resolve to emerge stronger from the ashes of our past.
We also extend our gratitude to the international community and our African neighbors for their support in our rebuilding efforts. Countries like Uganda, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Tanzania have played pivotal roles in Rwanda's journey toward peace and stability.
Our narrative is one of triumph over tragedy, a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Rwandan people and their unwavering commitment to a united and prosperous future. As we remember the dark days of the genocide, we also celebrate the remarkable progress we've made as a nation, driven by the courage and determination of our people.
Rwanda stands as a beacon of hope, demonstrating the power of unity and the importance of taking responsibility for our collective future. We are a testament to the strength found in forgiveness and the potential for renewal in the face of unimaginable adversity.
As we move forward, let us continue to uphold the values that have guided us this far, ensuring that the lessons learned from our past illuminate the path to a brighter, more inclusive future for all Rwandans.
