Tanzanian music sensation Zuchu has been barred from performing in Zanzibar for the next six months following a highly debated stage show. Her recent appearance on Kendwa Island featured explicit language and provocative gestures, leading to an outcry from conservative residents.

The Zanzibar Arts Council swiftly took action, citing violations of the island’s customs, traditions, and cultural norms. In addition to the ban, Zuchu was fined $390 (£306) for performing without proper council registration.
