In a gripping quarterfinals encounter of the CAF Champions League, Mamelodi Sundowns triumphed over Young Africans through a penalty shootout, following a goalless draw in regular time, to secure their place in the semifinals.


The intense battle, which ended in a 3-2 victory on penalties, unfolded at the Sundowns' home ground, after the teams had previously locked horns in a 0-0 stalemate in the first leg. Goalkeeper Ronwen Williams emerged as the hero for Mamelodi Sundowns, making crucial saves to deny two penalties from Young Africans, ensuring his team's advancement.


The Sundowns now await their next challenge, set to face the victor of the quarterfinal match between ASEC Mimosas and Esperance ST, in their quest for CAF Champions League glory.
