Ataf Mohamed Mokhtar is a Sudanese journalist, political commentator, and editor-in-chief of the independent newspaper Al-Sudani. Forced into exile by Sudan's conflict, he managed newsroom operations from Cairo while coordinating with reporters on the ground through widespread communications blackouts to maintain coverage of the war.
