Kenyan teacher serves examination papers to students
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has warned the public about false information circulating regarding payments for teachers who supervised the 2024 national exams.
On Saturday, February 1, KNEC used its official X account to clarify that the information being shared is fake. The misleading post had claimed that KNEC had not processed examiners' payments due to incomplete details. However, the council dismissed this as false.
Meanwhile, KNEC has also instructed school heads to re-register all Grade 6 learners through the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) registration portal. This directive was issued on Friday, January 31.
During the registration process, schools must correct any errors in candidates’ bio-data. KNEC emphasized that details such as the correct spelling and order of names, gender, birth year, citizenship, religious education option, and any special needs or disabilities must match official birth certificate records.
Additionally, the council reminded school heads that candidate transfers must be processed online and completed by February 28.
