Police in Kiambu County found the body of 28-year-old Jackline Nyambura Mungai on Saturday morning along the Ruaka-Banana Road in the Kamutaro area.
Residents reported the incident to Karuri Police Station around 7 a.m., prompting officers to investigate. The body was discovered half-naked with no visible injuries, but her head was tightly wrapped with a blue t-shirt, covering her mouth and nose, possibly to suffocate her.
Crime scene detectives processed the area, and the body was taken to Kihara Level IV Hospital for storage as they await a postmortem.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Jackline had been living with 44-year-old Nashon Kuria Wanjiru in a rental apartment in Kamutaro for about four years. The exact cause of her death is still under investigation.
